I’ve been on Substack for almost a year now and while I’ve had a LOT of ideas about what to post here from essays, to short stories to journal-style updates on my debut publishing journey, I just couldn’t get started.
I thought about this a lot and after chatting with an established (and very wise) author, I decided I don’t necessarily need another place to write. I write novels and I love writing novels. What I really want is to create community and pick the brains of other writers about their process.
That’s where Trust the Process comes in. As a psychologist and an author I am really curious about how therapists juggle the dual role of creative and professional, how much of the psychology comes into their writing, and how (if) the writing enriches their therapy practice. So, this substack will be less about me and more about others.
I’m still figuring out the format but an interview series is coming very soon…

P.S- Hit reply and share your ideas with me. Would you like to connect with a writing group? Would you like a less-formal 'drop-in' in style writing session with other writers to keep you accountable? Are you keen to hear from other psychs & therapists who juggle creativity and their professional jobs? Let me know...
